Nubira II from Budapest (English)

Hello, I've been wanting to post here. So, the "sometimes restricts revving" problem has been finally resolved.

So I was driving to my parents city on the highway, and suddenly the car lost power and didn't accelerate, so I pulled to a rest area (luckily tha car waited with this problem until we reached one 😄). I thought it needed to be towed again. I've waited some minutes and it started right away. I decided to continue the journey (I know it was not wise, but I gave it a go). The car did not produce the problem again, but after the stop it started to lose power sometimes, it didn't go above 100 kmph. Towards the end of the destination the problem got more frequent. When I reach the city (idle for the engine) I noticed that the idle was very shaky and barely ran.

I took her to the local mechanic who redid the engine last time, and fortunately it was easy fix, the car ran on two cylinders, so they replaced the 4 spark plugs and the ignition coil. So far it seems to have fixed the problem I have had for a year now.

Mechanically she's safe at last, but of course there are problems still I have to fix. Some rust on the left rocker, I also need to re-grease the locks in the truck and driver's door because they are semotimes hard to open.

Lastly I have to thank @pompiliu92 for giving a tip to fox.rzeszow.pl a while back, because I could only find a new clutch pedal finger there. Even my main mechanic was not able to find one. But I ordered it from the website and in two weeks I got it.

Take good care everyone!

No problem right now, however I already bought its successor (drumbeat):

I don't want to sell the Nubira yet, I want to go through what's left of my plan (valve lifters replacement, left side rocker replacement and paint some body elements). I also would hate myself if the next owner didn't take care of her as much as I did. I haven't convinced myself to get rid of her, but I'm very afraid that at some point I will have to.

Although the Citroen has not been inspected by a mechanic yet (I know, very bold of me, but it was cheap, and it's very well equipped). If the Citroen requires too much money to fix every issue it might not last another safety inspection, in which case I will need the Nubira. Unfortunately, knowing myself I will get it sorted. It starts right up and runs very nicely, but it's full of error codes.

Hello!

It's leather treatment week! 😊 I've been planning an intensive leather care week for a while now. This means I cleaned the leather seats thoroughly. I bought some leather softener from a small, but friendly company from UK (Furniture Clinic), I found their name on most of the "best leather care manufacturers" list, and so far I'm very pleased, it seems to work better than Fenice, which I used before.

So every 1-2 days I'm applying a new layer of leather softener for a week, and I'm also using seat cover foils to help better absorption. The first few layers the leather absorbed faster than I could massage the softener into it. So it was demanding more and more of it.

Only mechanic issue remains the harsh valve lifter sound for a few minutes after the first start. The left rocker panel was also replaced. Of course it was worse than it first looked, both the outer and inner rocker had to be replaced.

I forgot to take pictures of the repaired rocker, next time I'll do it. Currently I'm looking for a fuel filler door opener lever, which was broken during the rocker repair.

I can't seem to find any on the Polish and Hungarian sites, but I'm still looking for it in scrapyards.

About the Citroen - it's doing fine. First imporant repairs and revision are done, it's not bad at all, only expansive thing to replace/repair is the ESP system, which causes all 4 error codes by itself. Used part won't do, because it too will break eventually. New one costs about 350-370 EUR. For now I'm keeping it. I'm literally floating in an incredibly cushy soft leather sofa with open sunroof 🥰

The worst of all is I don't see myself selling the Nubira because I like it too much, but rationally I don't need 3 cars at all.
