imi place mult de la ei cobalt si malibu. sunt mai accesibile ca pret si sunt misto

ai vazut un malibu in carne si oase? eu am vazut si nu am fost prea incantat. M-am plimbat putin pe langa ea si nu mi s-a parut cine stie ce.. Am vazut chiar si impala(de fapt nu mai stiu exact cum se numeste, dar e modelul ala folosit destul de mult de politie si taximetristi in state) si iarasi nu am fost impresionat. Bine erau modelele de acu 2-3 ani, in ultima vreme au mai renascut americanii, insa nu cred ca vor aduce modelele anume concepute pentru americani: motoare mari, masini mari, fara multe optionale pe ele cu consum imens. Noul tahoe e dezamagitor la ce iti ofera in interior, fata de cat costa.. singurul lucru pe care ti-l ofera e exclusivitatea.. care e relativa..

si la ce iti foloseste daca in interior te simti ca acu 10 ani? Iar ca si performante dinamice mai are de mancat mult malai suburbanul pana ajunge la x5 de exemplu.Si in plus ai o cisterna sa o cari dupa tine, pentru consumul monstrilor alora? (daca conteaza). In locul lor mai repede as alege un nissan armada. arata de o mie de ori mai bine si e muuuuuult mai bine finisat

"Chevrolet Europe Ends Third Quarter with Sales up 27 % and a 1.14% Market Share

- 182,000 sales between January & September in all of Europe

- 86 percent growth in Central & Eastern Europe

 

Zurich. For the third quarter in a row, Chevrolet Europe announces a remarkable overall sales growth. With total sales of 182,000 vehicles for the January to September 2005 period (against 143,183 for the same period in 2004), Chevrolet Europe has increased its sales by 27 %. Its market share in the same period went up from 0.91% to 1.14%

 

Hardy Spranger, Executive Director, Chevrolet Europe said: “Since the launch of Chevrolet Europe in January this year, our sales figures have been continuously growing. This quarter is no exception and once again, Central and Eastern Europe is our fastest growing market (+86%). The western European markets are also steadily growing, although at a slower rate, and by the end of this year, we expect to sell well over 200,000 vehicles.”

 

Overall, the highest growth rate comes from Central & Eastern Europe with 86% with 64,000 vehicles sold in the January to September period, against 35,000 for the same period in 2004. Poland increased sales from 2,028 units in 2004 to 4,900 in 2005, Chevrolet Russia, which just started its activities this year, already sold 11,500 cars (excluding the locally built Chevrolet Niva) and Ukraine has seen considerable growth with 20,800 vehicles sold this year over 5,484 during the same period of 2004.

 

Western European markets also grow constantly. Western Europe recorded an overall growth of 7% at the end of the third quarter with 104,900 vehicles over 98,265 for the same period last year. Portugal recorded an outstanding growth of 154%, selling 2,000 units, versus 792 for the same period in 2004. Other markets have important growth rates, such as Norway (108.6%), Denmark (72.6%), Austria (53.5%), Germany (26.3%), Ireland (26.6%) or Sweden (20.1%). The United Kingdom (9.9%), the Netherlands (7.00%), France (6.7%), Finland (7.6%), and Italy (5.6%) also contribute to the overall growth with steadily increasing figures.

 

The best selling vehicle in the first nine months was Kalos with 74,000 units sold, followed by Matiz with 45,000."

"Athletic and appealing: The S3X off-road concept with seven seats

 

Just as the Kalos heralded the establishment of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co. (GM DAT) in South Korea only two years ago, so the Chevrolet S3X show car rings in a new era for Chevrolet in Europe, with new products designed, engineered and manufactured in South Korea. Featuring environmentally friendly hybrid technology, the S3X gives a glimpse into potential future propulsion systems.

 

The hybrid powertrain in the S3X show car is a belt alternator starter system (BAS). The system was developed by GM and adapted by GM Daewoo engineers to provide improved fuel economy in stop-and-go-driving by shutting the engine off at idle and enabling early fuel cutoff to the engine during decelerations. The relatively simple and affordable system replaces the conventional alternator with a combined alternator/starter and adds a 42-volt NIMH-storage battery, assisting the existing 12-volt electrical system.

 

Regenerative braking and optimized charging further improve fuel economy while all vehicle accessories and passenger comfort systems are maintained during the periods when the engine is temporarily shut off. Compared to conventional powertrains, the ‘mild’ hybrid set-up will have the potential to reduce fuel consumption by up to 12 per cent. GM will introduce BAS hybrid systems on high- volume SUVs and cars in the next three years.

 

When the production version is launched in 2006, the S3X will be the first diesel-powered Chevrolet in Europe. It will also be the first vehicle in the line-up to be developed entirely by GM DAT. The S3X also offers a preview of possible styling cues for future Chevrolet models. The eye-catching SUV (length/width/height: 4,639/1,848/1,722 mm) features powerfully flared wheel arches filled by large 20-inch wheels, striking metal inserts in the front and rear bumpers, horizontal vents in the wings and jewel-like front headlamps in which the light is diverted by cylindrical prisms. Whether open or closed, the large, louvered glass roof creates a light, roomy atmosphere inside the S3X.

 

In addition, the Chevrolet show car is very practical: The rear window can be opened separately to make the luggage compartment readily accessible without needing to open the rear flap.

 

Despite its compact size, the S3X study has room for three rows of seats – and thus seven passengers – thanks to its long wheelbase of around 2.70 metres. The design of the interior is dominated by the unusual combination of real wood and metal. The infotainment system on board the Chevrolet S3X includes a DVD-based navigation system linked to an 18cm monitor."

Pe 11.01.2006 s-a lansat oficial masina cu care Chevrolet va alerga in WTCC: Lacetti WTCC 2006.

 

"VIENNA, 11 January 2006 – Chevrolet Europe has launched its 2006 World Touring Car Championship campaign in Vienna, Austria, today. At the Vienna motor show, new Executive in Charge of Chevrolet Europe, Wayne Brannon, presented the 2006 Chevrolet Lacetti WTC to media and public.

 

“I am proud to head a brand which has an exciting motorsports programme going on like Chevrolet has with the World Touring Car Championship,” Brannon said. ”In my previous assignment for General Motors in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, I had the opportunity to experience first-hand how competition helps positioning a brand in the marketplace, and how it helps building awareness. With the WTCC, Chevrolet has a unique opportunity to challenge its market competitors again on the track, at the most international level possible. While at the beginning of last year we were the new kids on the block, this year we are definitely aiming at making part of the block our own. The results from the last races in 2005 clearly indicate the potential that is there, waiting to be unleashed. Personally, I can’t wait for the season to start!”

 

After a learning year, which was the 2005 WTCC campaign, RML has used the winter period to build into the new car all the facts, figures and feedback the team amassed throughout the season. “Our 2006 car is a logical development of our 2005 car,” said Ray Mallock, Chief Executive of RML. “2005 was a hectic year, with a busy race schedule and an even busier development schedule in the workshops. Throughout the year we have managed to continuously and consistently increase our competitiveness, as we amply proved during the last races of the season. All that we have learned in 2005, and the developments we have made since the end of the season have now been carried over into our 2006 car, which we are confident will continue to improve on the results we managed in Valencia and Macau.”

 

Many things new on the 2006 Lacetti aren’t visible to the naked eye, but do add up to a big difference. “The most visible change compared to last year’s car is the driving position,” Mallock continued. “The driver now sits of the left-hand side of car, which gives us more flexibility with the weight distribution and more easily allows us to set the car up for the growing number of anti-clockwise circuits we race on. The left-hand drive will also benefit the customer cars which will go on sale in 2006.”

 

“On the aerodynamic side we have concentrated on reducing drag by intensively using Computational Fluid Design as well as full-scale wind tunnel testing. The suspensions have been revised and the serviceability of the cars has also been improved, which will certainly help us in the limited repair time available between races.”

 

“As far as the engine goes the major change is that they are now developed and built in house, in RML’s new engine facility “RML Power” headed by ex-Cosworth Engineer Arnaud Martin. As a result, we expect to see significant improvements in this area. We have also strengthened our engineering team with the addition of two new engineers, Ron Hartvelt and Mark Cromack who will engineer Alain Menu and Nicola Larini respectively. We will also have a permanent test car available which will allow us to increase the testing and development pace”

 

“I am confident that, the combination of improved aero dynamics, chassis, engine performance and increased engineering resource will see us fighting for wins this season, which is in line with our programme objectives”.

 

“I can barely wait to see our new car in action,” said Chevrolet Europe’s Motorsport Manager, Eric Nève. “After learning the ropes in 2005, this year we have to prove that we can build on our experience from the past 12 months. With all the work that has been going on over winter, I’m confident that we will hit the ground running at a fast pace once our test programme gets underway. Equally important for us is the fact that the 2006 WTCC will expand to Eastern Europe and South America, which are crucial regions for Chevrolet.”

 

While the drivers’ line-up of Rob Huff, Nicola Larini and Alain Menu and stays the same, the livery of the 2006 car will be different from last year, as will be the racing numbers. “The results from last year have led GMAC to join us for the 2006 WTCC campaign as our primary sponsor and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Carlos Ribeiro of GMAC for his confidence and support.” This year’s Lacetti’s will carry racing numbers 6, 7 and 8. Since 8 was the fetish number of company-founder and avid racing driver, Louis Chevrolet, it is only normal that Chevrolet’s compatriot, Alain Menu, will carry number 8.

 

Chevrolet’s test programme will kick off with the shake down at the MIRA proving grounds on February 8th and continue with a full test programme at Brands Hatch and Snetterton in the UK, Albacete in Spain and Magny Cours in France."

Un nou concept de la Chevrolet: T2X

 

"European Premiere of Chevrolet T2X Concept Car in Brussels

 

Brussels. The Chevrolet T2X concept vehicle debuts in Europe at the Brussels Motor Show from January 10 to 22, 2006. The Chevrolet T2X concept vehicle combines the body of a compact sport utility vehicle with the exciting design of a sport coupe. T2X was first unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show in 2005 and now found its way to Europe.

 

The vehicle was developed by the GM Daewoo Design Center in Korea. “This striking concept car demonstrates the capabilities of our international design team”, said David Lyon, Executive Director of Design for GM Asia-Pacific. “We are very excited to show this concept car for the first time to the European public. The T2X has tremendous potential and we might find something very similar to the T2X in production in the near future.”

 

The T2X is based on the architecture of the Chevrolet S3X show car, which itself serves as the basis for the company’s new SUV which will premiere as the Chevrolet Captiva at the Geneva Show in spring 2006.

 

The body of the T2X has a bold, masculine front with prism-style headlamps. Its taut yet emotional surface is highlighted by a dynamic side character line that rises up toward the rear. With a wheelbase of 2,707 mm, sporty, front-wheel arches and 20-inch wheels that are situated outside the vehicle’s body, the T2X has a very athletic stance.

 

The four-door, which has an overall length of 4,320 mm and an overall width of 1,856 mm, lacks conventional B-pillars and features rear hinged backdoors. Combined with its overall height of 1,666 mm, this allows easy access for both people and cargo. Completing the exterior design is a removable glass roof panel.

 

The dramatic coupe-style upper body and strong, functional lower exterior theme carry through to the interior of the T2X. Practical lower surfaces contrast with inviting, fabric-covered upper surfaces that have a sporty theme. A mixture of blue fabrics with orange accents provides a cool and neat atmosphere that is in harmony with the stylish exterior."

"GM Showcases Six New Vehicles at the Detroit Motor Show

 

First look at two new hybrid models and Chevy and Buick concepts

 

Detroit. General Motors will quicken its North American product pace by featuring six new models for a number of its brands at the Detroit Motor Show (January 14 - 22, 2006). GM’s commitment to improving fuel efficiency and reducing fuel use with advanced technologies is evidenced by the introduction of two more hybrid vehicles, the Saturn Vue Green Line and the Chevrolet Tahoe Two-mode Hybrid featuring the world’s first two-mode full hybrid system in an SUV.

 

Chevrolet and Buick will unveil exciting new concept vehicles, the Chevrolet Camaro concept and the Buick Enclave, a new mid-large crossover vehicle. Also celebrating their world debuts at Detroit are the Cadillac Escalade ESV and the Escalade EXT, two new members of the second-generation Escalade family of luxury SUVs.

 

Here’s a deeper look at all six new models:

 

Hybrids: Fuel economy improved by up to 25 percent, on sale soon

 

The Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid is the first GM vehicle powered by a new, more affordable hybrid system. The Vue Green Line Hybrid delivers a fuel economy improvement of about 20 percent, depending on driving conditions. When introduced in mid-2006 in the US, the Vue Green Line is expected to be the lowest-cost hybrid-powered SUV in the market, with a price starting at less than $ 23,000 (about € 19,150).

 

The Vue Green Line uses sophisticated controls and a unique electric motor/generator mated to a 2.4L VVT four-cylinder engine and 4T45-E four-speed transmission powertrain. It is a simple and flexible hybrid architecture that allows increased fuel economy through engine shut-off at idle, fuel cut-off during deceleration, electric power assist during acceleration and the capability to capture electrical energy through regenerative braking.

 

GM’s other featured hybrid is the V-8-powered Chevrolet Tahoe Two-mode Hybrid featuring the two-mode full hybrid system. It is expected to deliver a 25-percent improvement in composite fuel economy when combined with Active Fuel Management displacement on demand technology. The Hybrid Tahoe will go on sale in the US in 2007.

 

GM, BMW and DaimlerChrysler are co-developing the two-mode full hybrid system, a patented hybrid technology with two modes optimized for city and highway driving. The first mode is used for low speeds and light loads. The second mode is used primarily at highway speeds and provides full engine power when conditions demand it, such as when passing, pulling a trailer or climbing a steep grade. The second mode integrates sophisticated electronic controls, such as Active Fuel Management, cam phasing, and late-intake valve closure, allowing even more efficient engine operation.

 

Concept cars: Continuing the tradition of Chevrolet and Buick

 

At the Detroit Motor Show, Chevrolet presents a concept car that continues the tradition of the mid-60s Camaros. Though only a show car at this point, the Camaro Concept is intended to explore customer reaction to design and engineering elements that might lead to an all-new version of the Camaro. The long hood, short deck and wide stance of the Camaro Concept leave no doubt that it is a serious performance car. Those looks are backed up by a 400-horsepower aluminum small-block V-8 featuring Active Fuel Management. This system shuts off cylinders to save fuel when the engine is lightly loaded.

 

Buick is unveiling the Enclave – a vision of a new luxury crossover vehicle that encapsulates the new, youthful spirit at Buick. The Enclave has a taut, athletic stance that complements the romantic cues of Buick’s heritage. Enclave’s form incorporates subtle yet continuous lines that create visual distinction and cohesion. Dynamic, jewel-look headlamps and taillamps – including headlamps that turn with the front wheels – contribute to the vehicle’s refined appearance.

 

Inside, a sumptuous, six-passenger environment features a rich looking, two-tone Cocoa-and-Cashmere color scheme, which is accented with wood trim. A large, panoramic skylight extends from the front-row seats to the third-row seating area.

 

Escalade ESV and EXT: New members of the all-new family of luxury SUVs

 

The Cadillac Escalade ESV is the largest member of the all-new Escalade family. The ESV model is more than 50 centimeters longer than the Escalade, with most of the additional length translating into more premium seating and cargo-carrying capability. Escalade ESV has a sleeker, cleaner and more athletic form with improved aerodynamics while appearing smaller in stature.

 

The all-new Cadillac Escalade EXT sport utility truck completes the Escalade family of vehicles with a new look that’s still instantly recognizable as a Cadillac. Details in elements such as wraparound fascias, styled mirrors and integrated running boards enhance Escalade EXT’s flowing design and bolster the refined feeling. All major sheetmetal and body components are new and feature crisp, taut lines. The sleek, toned look includes a faster windshield angle of 57 degrees, which flows gracefully into the roofline.

 

European customers can look forward to the new Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV´s arrival in the second half of 2006."
