BMW could be gearing up to launch a new flagship car – the Z9. These official renderings – created by BMW’s Californian styling studio – were released at the Los Angeles Auto Show at the beginning of January.

 

Dubbed the California Spyder concept, BMW’s Designworks studio says the concept would have a folding carbonfibre roof and be powered by the ‘700bhp V10 engine that powers the BMW-Williams F1 car’.

 

At first glance these sketches might look like a flight of conceptual fancy, but BMW bosses have already admitted that a flagship project is on the drawing board. It would almost certainly be powered by the M5’s V10 and could be based on a development of the Z8’s aluminium chassis.

 

It’s likely that this is the supercar project that a senior BMW figure mentioned at a meeting of financial analysts last July. The official said that BMW was considering building such a car, and that it was closely monitoring the market and moves from rival car makers.

 

When Autocar attempted to clarify the surprise comments, a senior BMW spokesman played down the possibility of an imminent launch. He hinted that the project could be rendered pointless by the arrival of the M6 and M6 CSL.

 

The studio computer renderings pictured here show a big, elegant machine that takes the Z4’s ‘flame-surfaced’ looks and refines them considerably. Outwardly the Gallardo Pitòn will differ from the standard Gallardo, with the entire roof and spoiler section being finished in black, and the engine cover will be in glass. In line with this, the rear taillights will also be darkened. Six external colours will be available depending on the colour of the brake callipers. These colours are: Grigio Altair (grey callipers), Grigio Proteus (yellow callipers), Ballon White (grey callipers), Giallo Midas (yellow callipers), Arancio Borealis (grey callipers) and Verde Ithaca (grey callipers). The car will receive starfish Callisto alloy wheels (which will also feature on the Gallardo Spider) as standard fitted with Pirelli Corsa track tyres (although road tyres can also be ordered as a free option). The suspension will be lowered and stiffened and the gearbox will receive shorter ratios for faster acceleration. The back of the car will be fitted with an integrated camera on the rear spoiler to aide parking, projecting an image onto a 16:9 multimedia screen.

 

Stainless steel kickplates engraved with the Gallardo Pitòn script and upgraded Perseus leather upholstery (optionally perforated) will increase the equipment level over the standard Gallardo. The bi-colour theme of the exterior will also continue inside with stitching, piping, carpet borders and leather inlays following the main exterior colour. To make the Pitòn even more unique, there is the possibility to engrave the name of the owner in the cars identification plate (not available with the optional Smokers Package).

 

Performance of the Pitòn is breathtaking, with the 0-100 km/h dash coming up in 3.95 seconds. Top speed lies at 315 km/h. Despite being a sportier and faster version of the Gallardo, the Pitòn will be heavier than the standard coupé with a dry weight of 1,430 kg. Around 250 examples of the Gallardo Pitòn will be built and priced at around 10.5% higher than the standard Gallardo (around $200.000).

Hallo new Ford Fiesta! Ford is not sitting back and letting the new Renault Clio and updated VW Polo steal the limelight in the small car segment. We have exclusive spy photos of a new Fiesta.

 

The increasing competition in small hatch market has forced Ford to give its popular Fiesta, a new look and the facelifted car will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

 

However, this is no minor nip and tuck, and the 2006 Fiesta will not only feature a new face but it will get a complete new interior too.

 

In terms of its exterior design Ford has made prominent changes to the Fiesta's front and rear end.

 

The car's nose will feature new headlights and a redesigned grille to reflect that of the new Focus. At the rear there are revised taillights and a new bumper too.

 

Fresh sideskirts and new alloy wheels complete the changes.

 

The biggest changes to the car are reserved for the interior where Ford is giving the Fiesta's cabin a quality and image boost. Its interior architecture will reflect that of the Focus and in terms of fit and finish rumours have it that quality will be top notch.

 

The engine range is set to stay the same but apparently all models will get an updated suspension setup.

 

Ford will probably only launch the facelifted Fiesta locally in the first quarter of 2006.

Mie unul imi place cum arata(vedeti mai jos un cgi mai mare), pt ca aduce un pic pe lateral cu acura rl (o masina f faina) si putin cu alfa 166. Eu is curios ce dimensiuni va avea 608, pt ca oricum actualul 607 era si el destul de mare(4.87 m) . Va incerca sa tina pasul cu audi a6(care a crescut si el destul de mult in lungime)?

 

 

 

 

 

There's a new Peugeot on the prowl, and this week's Auto Express magazine has exclusive images to prove it. The pics show the firm's forthcoming 708, designed to challenge the best from BMW, Mercedes and Audi in the executive market.

 

The car is set to replace the current 607, which is a slow seller in the UK, although it's more popular in mainland Europe. The 708's smooth rear has wraparound light clusters above sporty twin exhausts, while the shoulder line dips as it approaches the front of the car, giving the newcomer curved flanks similar to Mercedes' CLS.

 

But it's the nose that reveals the 708's true heritage. Its wide-mouthed grille and distinctive headlamps are taken straight from the 407, while the pronounced bonnet bulge draws from the recent 907 sports car concept.

 

Although still in development, the 708 shares its underpinnings with sister firm Citroen's C6, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Its luxurious interior and huge space for rear passengers give clues as to what to expect from the big Peugeot.

 

Comfort will be a key selling point, with electrically controlled rear seats and a host of entertainment and communication goodies. As with the Picasso opposite, Citroen's innovative lane departure warning system is likely to be standard, alongside directional headlamps.

 

Power will come from a choice of two V6 engines - a 2.7-litre HDI oil-burner or 3.0-litre petrol serving up 208bhp and 215bhp respectively. Each will come with a six-speed auto gearbox. The car is expected to go on sale in 2008

Topicul asta pentru ce mama lui mai este daca voi (in special Maximus si Topser) puneti toate noutatile ca zeci de topicuri separate. Si in plus, de ce mai e sticky daca nimeni nu-l foloseste.

 

Dragi "stiristi" daca tot va pasioneaza domeniul si doriti sa ne tineti si pe noi la curent hotarati-va o data unde postati ca eu sunt in confuzie.

 

In plus, chiar am apreciat aparitia acestui topic pe care o consideram oportuna si menita a reduce numarul de topicuri create pe baza unor concepte care sigur nu vor ajunge niciodata pe strazi. Ce ziceti, hai sa adunam toate stirile aici daca tot exista threadul sau sa-l stergem si gata.

din pacate nu e fezabila chestia asta din cauza ca nu incurajeaza discutiile (ar iesi un talmes balmes) si in plus atunci cand se aduna stirile, se aduna si pozele==> se incarca greu pagina.. eu cred ca e bine asa cum e acum, nu vad de ce va deranjeaza ca se discuta despre masini care apar.. eu recunosc, sunt un muscat de automobile, si in logica mea, toate concepturile care apar au locul lor in lumea auto.. acea de a prefigura daca nu noi modele, atunci noi directii in tehnologie,design etc

pai oricum acest topic a fost facut de admini (prin unirea mai multor topice) ... asa ca ei probabil vor da jos eticheta de sticky.. in sfarsit.. eu sper totusi sa am parte de mai multa activitate pe sectiunea de stiri si nu numai cateva cuvinte acolo, ci poate cu comparatii cu alte modele, date tehnice prin care iese in evidenta modelul respectiv.. haide-ti oameni buni ca se poate! :) >-

Perfect de acord cu remix ..deja devine enervanta chestia ...nou model sau concept nou topic. E remarcabila intentia unora de a crea N topicuri pe seama aparitiilor unor modele dar hai sa ne rezumam a posta doar aici.

 

P.S. In ultimele 4 zile am vazuit deja o groaza de noi topicuri care mor in aceeasi zi aproape.

gandesc logic :D .. cum poate fi intretinuta o discutie pe baza 2-3 poze si sa n-ai nici o dovada a functionalitatii masinii respective? Da ...nu-mi place oglinda...era mai fain daca avea garda mai jos .etc .. si gata a murit totul :D .
