Daewoo/sony

Recommended Posts

Hi there

I found on net severe infos claims that Daewoo stereos was developed by Sony. Is that corect? If so, can I connect some Sony CD changer on my AKD 0636 stereo? Or, where I can got AKD60 changer?

Thx

Heh, bellieve me or not, this passed through my mind :) Nope, I like this double DIN machine, I still like the cassetes, and sound is not bad. I have AKD 0636 Radio/Cass/CD stereo, and I realy want to connect it to some CD changer.

Yes, it's not bad idea, but this can be double solutions, *with* changer, not instead.

Hi,

@Sin&sha:

The answer to your question is: your AKD 0636 is not compatible with any CD changer available on the market. Actualy your stereo was not built to accomplish this feature.

I think that you should follow the advice that LYM give it to you and buy yourself a CD player. This is the best solution otherwise

you will spend a lot of time to find something that you will never find.

Huh? How come? My stereo is changer controler, has a DIN conector for changer, has commands for changer, and its paired with changer for some markets, or as optional. Changer is, most likely, AKD60. Hm, maybe I did a mistake nameing my stereo? Model is not writen on the front panel of the stereo, I found a picture of it on the net, with this name.

It is possible but I'm not saying that you did. Try to put a picture of it (the stereo from your car) but...if you had a DIN connector for the changer then it is possible that your stereo is not the one that you mentioned above.

@Sin&sha

I can confirm that AKD 0636 is provided with a connector for CD changer and the menu of the system allow to use a CD changer, but in the user manual of my Nubira it is nominated another device which can work with AKD60, and the model is AKF-0816W! So, if you d'ont want to spend some of your money in vain, try to do what Lym said, buy a MP3 player or an FM modulator. Cheers!

Thanks for your response. As I know, in Leganzas (and other Daewoos) was installed changer AKD060© or AKD 0495. Don't know which one can be paired with my stereo, if any differences exists. However, it's hard to believe that one of those can be paired with only one stereo? Maybe is thruth that (at least) one of Daewoos stereo developed by Son? If that's corerect, maybe that's why those are not compatibile? Maybe than I can connect one of Sony changers? Hm, I'm still confused and w/o consistent info ... :( My stereo has kinda americanized design http://cyberex.eiak.org/M3/M3_1_4.html?pdt...mp;com_no=10037

It's radio casette with CD player.

Yup, here http://www.anagabriela.ro/Manuale%20Daewoo...complet%202.pdf is writen that's AKD060 is controlled with AKF0816W, realy. Hm. Above this chapter is my stereo. For AKD0636 is stated that have to use Sony adapter with 8cm CDs?

@Sin&sha

If you have one, you can try a CD changer of a friend, in order to see if it's working. I d'ont think that is so difficult to dismount a CD changer, or, easier is to dismount your radio and try it on the car's friend. Pay attention to the code, for sure will be required at start-up, after zone code, which is 2. Good luck!

If you d'nt have the required skills, don't try anything, you can damage your stereo. And I d'ont think that Sony has to deal with Daewoo stereo's, but it is only a supposition.

Best regards!

Unfortunetly, no one of people I know has changer I'm interested for :( In fact, no o ne has a Leganza, and few of them has a Lanos.

Don't wory, I allready forgot a first time I install radio in the car, I'm install a many stereos so I'm preaty familiarized with this :)

Tell me some more about these zone codes, how many of it's and what each one mean? I realized that if I choose 1, my radio goes through freqency by steps of 0.2 MHz, which is no good. If I choose 2, goes by 0.1 MHz. In Manual is nothing writen about :(

@Sin&sha

Practicing... I had to disconnect few times the car battery and i hat to enter the code, provided with the car. Entering zone code 0 or 2 allow the radio to search with a 0.1 Mhz resolution. From mistake a have entered 1 instead of 2 and my radio missed few frequencies. I said what a > :) is gong on? No one told me about that, untill i have read on the forum about. When i have entered 1 at the zone code, my radio missed all the unpaired frequencies (e.g. 100.4, 98, and so on) and tunned itself only at the paired frequencies. This code zone sucks, maybe there is a country when commercial radio frequencies are only paired, and for a quick tune the radio ignore unpaired frequencies, which can be unnocupied or used by another type of users, like army, police, emergency comm's and others. But is only a supposition.

Best regards,

Adi Iacob

Later edit: here is a portable document file for a CD changer made by Daewoo. Take it and i hope can be useful.
