Hi Guys,

Just need your technical advice. My ride is a Espero 1.5DOHC and I'm having a problem with my CT sensor. It's newly replaced but the reading is off the true temperature ( it shows higher temperature than actual). So to get rid of this offset, i thought of putting a potentiometer in series with the CTS then i adjust the total resistance based on what i think is the actual temperature.

Here's what i did:

1. i turn on the engine and wait until the thermostat opens fully (this should place the needle on the middle of the temp gauge right?)

2. while i'm doing this, i have a voltmeter connected to the ECU terminals of the CTS.

3. then i turn the potentiometer to adjust the voltage to the voltage set for normal operating temperature which is (from what i read on the manual) 1.5 to 2 volts.

another method that i do (which i'm not sure if correct) is

1. i set the the potentio to its lowest setting (0 resistance, which would also contribute 0 voltage drop)

2 then i wait again for temp gauge to be at middle (at this point, even when the temp gauge is on the first line or lower portion, the fans would turn on, and the compressor would not switch on, meaning the sensor is already registering an overheat)

3. when the temp gauge reaches middle, i then turn the potentio to a higher resistance (making the "measured" temp colder) until the A/C turns on and the idle sets at its lowest - 800rpm- which i think are the conditions for normal temperature operation)

the problem is when another day comes and i have to start the engine again, it would not have the same setting i made. the rpm would be higher when the temp gauge is at the middle.

so do you think there's something wrong with my procedure? can you give advice on an alternative solution?

for now, i refuse taking it to a shop with a scanner to see all data at once since they charge a lot per scan (O.T. is there a work around here, i mean can i have an improvised equipment and software to have the scanner functions )

need your badly as this has been my problem for months now. Many thanks!

regards

Hi people!

First of all let me say two things: the first is that I don't speak Romanian and the second is that I would like to have your advise.

I live in Israel and I own a car which is known here as Daewoo Racer( it is a 1994 car, as far as I know it is based on the Opel Kadett, its engine type is G15MF, 1498 cc) attached 3 pics of it, please have a look. I know that the successor of this car (from 1995 on) was called here in Israel "Super Racer" and it is what you know as the "Cielo".

I would like to ask any information regarding it. I've turned to Daewoo Korea or what's left of it, but to no avail.

Waiting for your comments.

Hello!

I am from Poland. Thank you for your forum - I have found many useful informations here about Daewoo Tico car. Unfortunately I can not speak Romanian language (that is why I write this post in English). Usually I use online translators to read your posts in Romanian, they are good enough to understand most important parts.

I would like to ask you about rear seatbelts for Tico. In Poland rear seatbelts in Tico are manual, but I found that Tico made in Romania have inertia rear seatbelts installed (part no 84925A79B80-000 or 84904A79B80-000). Is that true? Unfortunately these inertia seatbelts are unavailable in Poland. Is there any place I could buy them?

Greetings from Poland,

Dear All

First of all I have to say, unfortunately I don't know romanian and I have to go in English.

I'm looking for the Cielo OBD1 Interface. I have to note that, I have several softwares such as Data Master, WinALDL - 160 baud ALDL reader, FreeScan, My ALDL and ... to communicate with tha ECU and also I know how to make and ALDL to serial port cable. The problem is, my Cielo OBD1 interface seems a little different. The A, C, F, G, H and L pins are used and the others are empty, but every where in pictures, ALDL needs pins A, B and E. So my question is which pin (of A, C, F, G, H and L) I have to use instead of A, B and E?

I have also attached my OBD1 photo.

hi friends

please i need your help

my car is daewoo cielo 1996 dohc 1.6v

the car was working fine but suddenly the car has a big problem

the idle level is moving between 0.7 and 1.2 alone (when the car is moving or in park) also the car lost its power so when trying to go with car a little upward road its move hardlyy with a voice from exhaust (blablabla voice ) , and also its completely stopped sometimes (cut off)

here what i did:

1- i checked idle speed sensor and its ok (moving upward and downward normally when ignition on and off).

2-i checked the tps sensor and seems ok since when i pull the connector from it when the car is turning on the rpm is moving upwards so the tps is adjusting fine .

3-i changed the spark-plug and spark wires with original one (new).

4-i checked the desperator cover(i mean the part where the 5 spark plug wires is connected, didn't know its name in English changed by a another one i have) also checked the rotating gap inside it and cleaned it

5- i tring to reset ecu by disconnecting negative battery terminal for about 10 min .

6- i make idle speed learning method

so please i need your help because all of this didnt solve the problem

is it a problem in the motor ,i have told by freind that this could happen by miss firing order, but is it possible the timing built is shifted from it position and cause that

hanks you

It was a nice Snowy evening on the Top of Mountains. Where we offered Corn to the monkeys on the way. A complete family jumped on the bonnet and enjoyed their meal.

Although they messed up my windscreen but was a memorable encounter

I found this a very useful way to record your maintenance cost with reference to the vehicle maintenance schedule,

All you have to do is take a print of vehicle maintenance sheet and mark the cost spent against each item, this would also enable you to predict your upcoming spendings
